In this paper, we propose tapered reflectors having stairlike structures that focus scattered infrared (IR) rays to enhance the detection perfoance of a nondispersive IR (NDIR) CO 2 sensor. We demonstrate that the sensitivity of the output voltage is increased by 2 and times in simulations and experiments, respectively, compared with the case when conventionally tapered reflectors are used.
Sep 23, 2020· Keywords: carbon dioxide; indoor air; NDIR; pathlength; interference 1. Introduction Besides being a greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide (CO2) also plays an important role in indoor environments [1–7]. CO2 is an indoor air quality indicator [8–18]. CO2 is the principal product of the combustion of fossil fuels and biomass.

uses microcontrollers paired with nondispersive infrared (NDIR) CO 2 sensors to monitor and control the CO 2 level in growth chambers. Like other infrared sensors, NDIR sensors rely on the principle that a target gas (, CO 2) absorbs a specific band of infrared light while transmitting other wavelengths of light, thus reducing
Sep 01, 2013· 1. Introduction. Nondispersive infrared (NDIR) gas sensing is one of the most widely used optical gas detection techniques, and there is a wide range of cell designs in commercial manufacture .For some gases, notably carbon dioxide (CO 2), alternative (nonoptical) technologies are unsuitable and therefore CO 2 detection in lowcost, volume applications often incorporates an NDIR …
In the science and industry fields, Nondispersive Infrared (NDIR) gas Detection Technique is usually used to measure the concentration of carbon dioxin (CO2). NDIR is an accurate and stable technique for analysing gas concentration and to be used in running automatic monitor system or longterm stable measurement. So far, it usually require 5 to 15 minutes to activate the circuit system until ...

Four alternative structures for CO2 …
The tracer gas ratio method, using CO2 as natural tracer, has been suggested as a pragmatic option to measure emissions from naturally ventilated (NV) barns without the need to directly estimate the ventilation rate.
